(#1) The Great Alaskan Road Trip: Glacier Bay
Our trip kicks off with the goal of visiting the 8 national parks that lay scattered across the biggest state in America. Here's to daily recapping of an unforgettable journey… 21 days, 8 national parks, and 1 Great Alaskan Road Trip!
(#2) Kenai Fjords National Park
The second stop along our Great Alaskan Road Trip includes learning a new skill, navigating a treacherous road, using a pay phone and a footbridge, and enjoying one of the greatest adventures of our lives!
(#3) Wrangell-St. Elias National Park
This stop includes a certificate of achievement for outstanding will, bravery, and thermoregulation, a shared outhouse with a screen in place of the door, and an activity we’ve wanted to try for a very long time.
(#4) Kobuk Valley and Gates of the Arctic
Things are touch & go as we hope to visit parks #4 and #5 along our Great Alaskan Road Trip. This recap includes an ice bar, the North Pole, and our very own version of the TV show ‘Alone’ … when we’re dropped off solo in one of the most remote national parks in the States.
(#5) Katmai National Park
Picture a wild zoo. An open, interactive wild zoo that’s home to thousands of brown bears and often offers views of a dozen+ bears at one time. This is Katmai National Park, the sixth national park of our trip.
(#6) Denali National Park
The mystery of the missing memory card, the cutest national park employees in the world, and ‘Fireweed Honey’ ice cream… We’re on our way to the most popular and accessible national park in Alaska!
(#7) Lake Clark National Park
We’ve made it to our final park of the trip, but celebrations are subdued as we can’t take our eyes off the view outside. It’s one of the most beautiful sights ever seen.
